Eyes wide open

Our newest addition is now 2 weeks old! She's over doubled in weight and length, weighing in at close to 1 lb. now. We first saw those pretty little eyes Monday morning, and her ears are starting to open now. She's becoming more mobile. She scoots around the box, and when she's cold she'll bury herself in the blankets. It's cuteness overload. :)

Happy 1st Fathers Day!

I could go on and on about what a great father Jack is, how he is my one and only, how seeing him with our daughter makes me love him in ways unimaginable just a few short months ago, but truth be told, words just wouldn't do him justice. So I'll leave it at this....

Happy Father's Day, babe... we love you so much!

Our little talker

This is what we're entertained with every night. She's just learned how to "scream", and she's not letting a second go to waste without practicing her new skill. ;) (Sorry it's so dark, it was right before bedtime)

My little mama!

My Monkey is now a little mama! She gave birth to one (yes, I said one) pup on Wednesday. Labor began just before Lily and I were leaving for daycare, and by 7:45 a.m., we had our new addition!

The puppy is not even weighing on our digital scale, but she's around 3 inches long and almost completely black (for now). Monkey is doing wonderful. She's turning out to be a wonderful mama. :) I'll post more pictures later!

To give you an idea of how small she is, Monkey's pre-pregnancy weight was around 6 lbs. Her head is the only thing seen in this picture:

3 months!

It took 3 months, and she's already doubled her birth weight! Everything is becoming so interesting to her now; it's amazing to see her reaction to different textures, colors, and patterns. She's developing her little personality, and my is she a sweetheart! Here are some updates for the month, along with pictures, of course!

  • She's officially "Daddy's girl". She smiles at anyone, but you should see the way she interacts with her daddy. The minute she lays eye on him, she talks and talks to him.

  • She's started to mock us. If we stick our tongue out, she tries until she does the same.

  • Sleeping through the night has become the norm. (Thank you, baby girl!!)

  • Tummy time is still her least favorite activity. We can usually get about 5 good minutes in before the fussing begins.

  • We're almost completely out of 0-3 month clothes. She's way too long for most of them, and now the onesies are getting a little tight.

  • She weighed in at 14 lbs 2 oz on Thursday. That's exactly double her 7lb 1 oz birth weight! Already!

  • Size 1 diapers are now waaay too small, so we've graduated to 2's.

  • She's found her laugh. It's hands down the sweetest thing I've ever heard. :)

We're expecting!

A litter, that is. haha. Monkey, my yorkie, is due this Saturday! (Her name is Paisley, but for some odd reason I only call her Monkey) I believe I've been in denial about her being pregnant. Just yesterday I told Jack he was crazy for thinking it. Sure she looks fat, but it's more saggy than I'd imagined it would be. Sure she's more tired than usual, but I chalked that up to her getting fat. I told him it was another false pregnancy. (She had one last year while I was pregnant... how weird!)

He proved me wrong not even an hour after I doubted him. We were sitting on the couch snuggling with the furbabies and Lily, and Jack took my hand and put it on Monkey's belly. Lo and behold, those little puppies were kicking up a storm! What an amazing thing to experience! So while I am sooo excited to soon house some adorable puppies, I'm overwhelmed with fear that I won't have a clue what to do when labor begins! Oh Lord be with us.

I'll update as soon as progress begins, I promise!
