Happy Graduation day! Oh, and Happy Birthday!

I promised I wouldn't cry. I mean geez, it's just my little brother.

I teared up the moment we drove into the arena. And cried through the entire ceremony. My once chubby cheeked, stinky, wouldn't leave me alone, had to do everything I did, baby brother made me the proudest sister in the whole world. He graduated, and I was beaming with pride.

Did I mention it was also his 18th birthday? What better way to celebrate your induction into adulthood than to graduate high school, to turn the page on childhood and grade school years and begin life in the "real world"?

Happy Birthday Marshall. I may not say it often enough, but I'm so proud of you. I love you!

Wait.. does the clock say 7?!

I'm 99.9% positive I'm going to jinx us, but as I now feel like a new woman, I must tell! Bedtime was a little later for my sweet girl. This was due to the fact that the Frank's are in town, and who can resist partying it up "Frank style"?! (more on that later)

We slept from 11 last night until 7 this morning! 8 freakin' hours! I haven't slept for 8 hours in one night since 1st trimester. I looked at the clock this morning like it was crazy. Like it had lost it's batteries or was playing a cruel joke on us. Where did 2:00 and 5:00 go?! I'll most likely see them both again tonight, but who cares?? I'm a new woman!

So this bumbo...

What an invention! It looks so supportive, with it's little bucket seat and high back rest. Her legs, her tush, and even her back fit ever so neatly into their appropriate little grooves. And it doesn't hurt that Lily looks too darn cute sitting in it. Like my little grown up baby, sitting like a big girl. :) See for yourself!

Oh Sophie

I've heard so much hype about this plastic giraffe teether thing they call "Sophie". Of course, hearing all the mom's praises I had to buy Lily one, just in case it really was "the best thing since sliced bread." I won't go as far as to say it's miraculous, but Lily sure does love her giraffe! She's been chewing on those precious little hands of hers for a few weeks now, so we decided it was time to break out the teethers. She's only interested in one though. Here's the proof... and some other pictures I just had to post. ;)

2 month shots. My poor, poor baby.

I keep having to remind myself that these vaccinations are a good thing, that it's imperative for her health that she gets them. Otherwise, I would pack up my husband and dogs and we would all run far, far away from the devil doctors with those horrid needles. I can honestly say there is NOTHING worse than seeing your child in pain. The emotional hurt is one so deep it leaves you breathless.

Needless to say, our baby girl is a trooper. Sure, she screamed bloody murder, but who wouldn't after being stuck three times in the legs. She's now sporting her first bandaids. She's had her first taste of cherry tylenol. Seeing that she's been through a stomach virus and she's still fighting a cold thats been lingering for over a week now, I see her as a strong little (well, big) girl. She's a lot tougher than mommy and daddy, that's for sure. Smiling through it all. That's my girl. :)

The damage :(
After a long, hard day, all she wanted was to cuddle. :)

2 months!

Our little tiny newborn is turning into a chunky, ever so lovable, big baby. :) 2 months old already! My gosh... time is flying by. She's becoming so much more interactive with us and her surroundings. I grow more & more in love with her by the minute... how could you not?!

Here are a few new developments since her 1 month post:

  • Started daycare last Wednesday. Absolutely one of the hardest days of my life... she could have cared less. She smiled at the teachers the minute she set eyes on them. My little social butterfly.
  • Cooing has become a constant. She smiles and coos all day long! She "talks" to her daddy and me, the trees, the ceiling fans, the dogs, whatever is in her eyesight at the moment she tries to carry on a conversation with. It's adorable. :)
  • She's eating 4 oz. at each feeding now. My little chunker! She eats around every 2 - 3 hours during the day. In the afternoons she cluster feeds, so she eats less but more often, around every 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Sleeping is getting better by the day! Her bedtime is 9 - 9:30, and she usually wakes only once anywhere from 1 - 3 to eat, then she's up with me at 5:45.
  • She's still napping 2-3 times a day. I think daycare wears her out! She only takes one (usually short) nap while she's there so by the time she gets home she is beat!
  • Still not a fan of tummy time. She'll tolerate it for no more than 10 minutes at a time. We're working our way up though!
  • She can roll from her back to her side (completely) but not all the way over yet. I'm sure it will be any day now!
  • She's in 0-3 month clothes, and some 3-6! That's because she's so long. She doesn't fit in almost any of the 0-3 month full body outfits because of her long legs. :) Her feet and half of her legs stick out of the 0-3 sleep gowns.
  • Poor baby was sick for the first time last weekend. She was throwing up... but smiling the entire time! Then Monday she came down with a head cold. Damn daycare germs.
  • Our little porker weighed in at 11lb. 10oz. and 23 in. long on Monday. She's all rolls!

She's growing up so fast. I'm trying so hard to inhale and absorb it all while I can... She won't be this little for long! ::insert bittersweet cry::
